My ATG 714

So if you are a crafter like me you know what this is, but some of you who visit my site are not, so let me explain.
This is a ATG 714 gun and in simple terms it is a tape runner. This tape runner is a crafter's dream. It comes in a UGLY red color and if you know me well you know my color is purple! So I thought long and hard about buying this (not so attractive) tape runner. After seeing that you can use Krylon Fusion paint to paint plastic and other had success in doing so with the ATG I thought go for it. So, I purchased mine on Ebay along with two rolls of tape for a reasonable price. I then went to pick out my paint and my wonderful Dad painted it for me (Thanks Dad!!!) he is good at painting I'm not! FYI he said it was easy to do in case you want to try it.
I am still getting used to it because it's like no other tape runner I have ever used. Most tape runners are small and as you can see this one is not. Loading the tape was much easier than I had been told. I was worried about that, but after watching a Youtube video on how to I was all set.
The bling swirl, bows and letters come from Michaels. The letters are from American Crafts called Thickers they are really cool because the glitter is inside the puff up letters. This way I don't have to worry about the glitter coming off on my projects! The super cute bows, I found in the Wedding Section. The flower bling is from Archivers in the 1.99 section.
I know this is not one of my normal posts, so if you are not interested just skip this one. Thanks for stopping by!

Next I will try my hand at a wedding card because a friend of mine is getting married soon. So stay tune for that!
Thanks again and as always I love comments!

A Shoe Card

This card all started with the ribbon. It's always the ribbon that gets you in trouble. ;o) I got this set of ribbon from the dollar spot in Target. In this set with four other styles was this one with the shoes. I though it would be so cute to make a card using my favorite item SHOES!! The more I thought about this ribbon I wondered what I was going to do with it. It hit me, my Forever Young Cricut cartridge has shoes. I then had to figure out how this was going to come together.

I started looking at my pattern paper and I found a set from American Crafts that had a set of four papers using the same colors just different patterns. I started looking at my ideas book and found a idea using four squares of paper as a background with a main square for the center.

Now, here comes the funny part of this card. I had been wanting a stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Green Thumb it had different sayings along with a cute strawberry which is why I wanted the set. I finally ordered the set along with other items not knowing it was going to have the perfect saying for this card. After making the card I needed a sentiment. I didn't like anything I had because after falling in love with this card I knew it needed to be just right. I remembered that stamp set had a garden boot and wondered if it had a saying about shoes. So I looked it up online because my order had not come in and it did have a saying and it fit the card perfectly. So as you can see a card was born and it all started with the trouble making ribbon. At least it only cost a dollar so I can't be too mad. :o)

Thanks for the comments keep them coming!

Scrapbook Layout

Here is a scrapbook layout I made for my nephew with pictures of him and his Great Grandma. The layout is simple looking now, but trust me with pictures it looks awesome!

Now this is how I made it. The background paper was from a DCWV stack called Nana's kids. I then used coordinating card stock for the picture mats. The sentiment at the top says:

I am lucky I have a great grandma

Who loves me so so much

My great grandma is so special

She has a special touch

She loves me more than anything

And I love her a bunch

The green and orange flowers are from the same collection used for the previous thank you card post. I used UTEE to make them shinny and some random buttons for the center. I also used DMC floss for the bows in the center of the buttons. The brown flower is a crochet flower my grandma made me. She is also the one in the photographs with my nephew. I thought it would be nice to have a piece of her on the page with him. The button in the center of that flower is also random with the same color DMC floss as the other flowers. The stem and leaves are from a Stampin Up stamp set called Watercolor Garden it is retired, but you may be able to find it on Ebay.

So, I can't wait to show her the finished page the next time we go to visit. I hope you liked my layout and as always I love comments.

Thank you card

This is a thank you card I made for my grandma's sister. We took a little road trip last Saturday to Wilmington, NC so my grandma could see her again. While we were there we had lunch with her. It was really nice to see her again it had been too long.
Now, to the card. The base is Taken with Teal by Stampin Up. The patten paper is from K & Company. The flowers come from a set by Imaginisce. I used UTEE to make them look shinny :o). The buttons are random and the string is too. I used a white gel pen for the stitching lines and a corner chomper for the edges. The inspiration for the stitching lines and the corner chomper comes from http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ by the way she rocks you have to check out her videos.
Thanks for looking and as always love comments :o)

Hi Cupcake!

Hi everyone!

It has been too long since my last post. One reason is I have been sick with a cold. I did however make two scrapbook pages, but I won't post them. Why? Well, silly me forgot to take a picture of the layout before I put pictures of my nephews on the page. I don't want to show their pictures on this blog because it can be viewed by anyone and I want to keep them private. So I promise I will make an effort to take a picture of the layout before putting their pictures on the page.
Now, back to the card. Don't you think it's cute?!? I think it is super cute not because I made it, but because of the cute cupcake. Every since I purchased the Sweet Treats cart for my Cricut I have wanted to make a cupcake card. With this card I cut the cupcake at 3 and used ribbon that I got from the dollar spot in Target. The card base is Pale Plum from Stampin up and the punch is also from Stampin Up. The punch was free during their Sale a bration, but hurry it will end March 31st. I embossed the frosting and heart with a Cuttlebug folder called Tiny Bubbles. I then applied 2way glue to the embossed bubbles then applied Martha Stewarts glitter for some added bling. The stamp is from Michaels.

As always I hope you like my card and I love comments!
