Guest Designer for My Creative Time

I can not even begin to express how honored I am to be a Guest Designer today on My Creative Time's blog. Emma is so talented and her stamp sets are amazing! Thank you so much Emma for this opportunity!

Now on to the card! The card size is 5 1/2 by 5 1/2. I am starting to really like using that size because it gives me more room to be creative. The card base is cardstock from PaperTrey Ink in white. The "sky" layer is some random pattern paper from my stash it is cut a 5 1/4 by 5 1/4. The "land" I free handed using Bo Bunny dots paper. I also used the Bo Bunny dots paper for the girls dress and stroller. I love using that paper because not only does it cut beautifully with the Cricut, but give plain card stock a little interest. The house and the little girl were cut at 2 1/2 using the Kate's ABC's from Cricut. I LOVE this cart! The cuts are cute, but not too cute like some of the other Cricut cartridges. The flower stem is some ribbon I found on Etsy. I really like how it works perfectly with flower you make or purchase like the one I used here from Basic Grey. The sun up in the corner I free handed also and gave it a little face from Peachy Keen Stamps Click Here to purchase.

Now, to the most important part! The products I used from Emma. The die I used can be found Here . I used the Fancy Frame Die & Stamp Set. I really like this die! I used the stamp that comes with the die, but I removed the dotted line in the center so it wouldn't cover my sentiment before stamping. The sentiment I used is from my favorite set "So Grateful for You". I have to say I use this set a lot! It is my go to set for a thank you cards! I know if you visit her site not only will you see how talented she is, but I'm sure you will find something you will love from her store just like I have (many times, maybe too many). Well, I think that about covers it!

I hope you like my post today and feel free to leave a comment and become a follower. Thank You again Emma for having me as your Guest Designer today! :o)

Thanks A lot

Today's post is a card I made just for fun. Have you ever had a card in mind you just had to make, but it wasn't really for anyone (yet). I have had this card in my head for a while.

I used a stamp set I got from Pink by Design called Lace background. I embossed the stamp with black embossing powder and used Worn Lipstick by Tim Holtz to distress the background. I really love how this card turned out. The flower in the corner is a flower from my stash. The ribbon across the bottom is from the Dollar Tree. Never under estimate the Dollar Tree they can have some really cute ribbon and trim. So keep checking back you never know what you may find. The pearl trim is from Hobby Lobby and the sentiment is from Emma (My Creative Time) the frame for the sentiment is from Spellbinders.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Today is my Mom & Dad's anniversary. They have been happily married for 43 years! I am so proud of them for making it this far.

This year I decided to change things up a bit and I made them each a card. First up is my dads card. I love how the card turned out. My theme was clocks (as if you couldn't tell) because my dad loves them. The clock in the top right corner if from Tim Holtz and I had it set for the exact time I entered into his life. The sentiment is from My Creative Time (click on her button on my side bar you won't be disappointed!). I just love her stamps!! I don't think I can say that enough. It's as if she reads my mind sometimes with the sentiments she comes up with. The one I used for this card is "My Dad my best friend" (now who doesn't need that one). The gears are from Tim Holtz as well. I used brads from the same collection as the paper which by the way is from Bo Bunny called "Timepiece". I also sprayed the gear with my awesome Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray for some awesome shimmer. Love my Lindy's!

Okay now to my Mom's Card:

My mom loves butterflies so I made that the theme of her card. The sign die cut if from Tim Holtz too. I just love this die! The sentiment if from PaperTrey Ink. The butterflies are from a punch by Martha Stewart. I used my Stickles and Glossy Accents to give them a little shine and shimmer. The paper collection I used is from DVWV called Mariposa. The trim at the bottom is from my favorite store Hobby Lobby (and if you are reading this Hobby Lobby put one close by me!!) The cherry blossoms flowers in the corner are from iamroses.com.

Well I think that about covers it. I hope you like my post and feel free to comment or become a follower!

If Friends Were Flowers, I'd Pick You.

Can I just say...I love this card! I really mean that! Yes, I know I have said that in the past, but I really do mean it this time. I loved making this flower and by flower, I'm not talking about the one in the center. The one in the center is from Iamroses.com. I made this flower out of coffee filters. Yes, I just said coffee filters! I learned this technique from the most AMAZINGLY talented crafter Arlene. If you haven't seen her videos on Youtube you're missing out! When I say talented I mean talented. I have learned so much from her! So Click Here to see a video on how to make theses flowers.

I did not use the die she used though, I used a flower punch from Stampin Up. I colored the coffee filers with Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls. The stem is a roll of leaf trim I found on Etsy. The twin is from the Twinery and the pearls are from Michaels. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
